Rich Reason moved from the quaint, parochial country-lanes of Dorset to
the buzzing, industrial cosmopolis of Manchester back in 2004 - to study
music production at the School of Sound Recording - and liked it so much
he stayed.
Since arriving in Manchester the sets and residencies have come thick
and fast - obviously the jewels in the crown being the APE and WHP
residencies, and now of course the Paradise Factory, which have led him
to play alongside dozens of his musical heroes; but after three years in
the city, its easier to list the clubs he hasn't played. He also holds
down residencies in London, Birmingham and Oxford. In October 2006 he
set up a Manchester wing of HIT&RUN, having been resident and promoter
at the Oxford branch for two years; it continues to go from strength to
strength, despite being on a Monday night at the Attic! You can also
catch him at ODDER Bar on Oxford Rd, Manchester each and every Saturday,
playing something a little less pounding.
